Via Chumphon…
Getting to Chumphon from Bangkok is very simple either by train or a comfortable VIP bus. Both options can easily be booked in Bangkok or online. Again Lomprayah Catamaran offers two Koh Tao trips to Koh Tao and Seatran Discovery offers one trip to Chumphon daily and the price includes the transfer to Koh Tao.

Via Suratthani_
Travelers from Phuket & Krabi typically pass through Suratthani, which is a long and at times uncomfortable journey in a minibus. Boat options are very limited and the only direct boat is a little dubious even at the best of times. This night boat leaves Suratthani every night at 11 pm. We do not recommend coming to Koh Tao (Map) this route but recommend you fly from either Phuket or Krabi directly to Koh Samui.
